Gameplay

The world in Platinum is the vast land of Sinnoh, which stretches from the mountains to the sea, the vast green steppe or the white snow, for you to explore freely. That is also the special point of the game when the player does not need to follow the plot but can freely explore the game's open world, complete side quests, and collect rare Pokémon to add to their collection.

The special feature of Pokémon Platinum is that it is a franchise game, making it possible for players to collect almost all Pokémon in the world. Travel to every area of ​​the vast map to search for Pokemon, collect and train to increase Pokemon's power, collect various items to increase Pokemon's fighting ability, and challenge the strongest Pokemon in the world.  

Classic Turn-Based Matches

At the beginning of the game, you will have to choose one of three coaches to role-play. Your companion throughout the game's journey, Giratina, will be simultaneously the game's mascot Pokemon and a central player in Platinum's plot. Once the character selection process is complete, you are free to go to new locations in search of wild Pokemon and collect them by throwing Pokeballs.

As a top trainer, you have to be knowledgeable about the Pokemon with different attributes that you possess. A Pokemon can be stronger or weaker than the other Pokemon in the game. That's when you need to use smart strategies to choose the best Pokemon for every situation and every opponent. The victories you win build you to earn XP to level up your Pokemon, and the money is used to buy equipment to advance to power up the Pokemon. 

Another addictive aspect of the toy is that you can trade Pokemon between players. This opens up an additional market for the game to play and encourages collectors to find rare Pokemon to add to their collections.
